Putting out fires with our DIY fire extinguishers!

We are coming to the end of our week on fire safety and let me tell you, it has been one busy week! I thought of so many ways we could explore fire safety and a hands down favorite of the week was putting out fires with our DIY fire extinguishers.

The children at Macclesfield are very interested in being fire fighters and they were given the opportunity to put a 'fire' out whilst in pre-school. They discussed what colours were in a fire and they selected paints to represent the fire. The children then placed some buildings in a tray and covered them with foam and fire coloured paints. They 'called' 999, shouting "fire, fire", and then they became firefighters, putting the fire out with spray bottles. Oh my, what fun they had! #eyfs
