Expanded Number Form This is a great way to teach expanded form using styrofoam cups. Put the cups together to make the standard form of the number and separate them to see the expanded form.
Laminate a number ladder, cut small slits in top & bottom & add a pipe-cleaner with a small bead. Use the bead to slide up & down as you complete addition & subtraction problems (",). could do the same thing with a horizontal number line.
Each student has a sight word ring with the words they need to practice - they grab it & start practicing anytime they finish their work or have a spare moment! can also be done with the spelling words for the week!
lego area & perimeter--This would be a fun way to get the students involved in math to learn about area and/or perimeter. All you would need is some legos and graph paper.
