BBC Radio Times - front cover for Christmas 1958 by Eric Fraser
Not the best scan - the scrap book I have of Fraser's work is tight bound - but it gives a good idea of the special covers undertaken for the Radio Times before the advent of 'colour' reproduction and photographic illustrations. Fraser did vast amounts of work for the BBC and Radio Times - this is typical of his style - highly detailed and decorative.

This complex illustration was drawn for the cover of the Radio Times in November 1953 when an "Elizabethan Evening" was scheduled. It includes many references not only to the original Queen Elizabeth but also alliterations to the 'new Elizabethan age' that the accession of Elizabeth II was seen to introduce, when post-war Britain would again become 'great'.
