David Batty was the local boy made good, even though he never really liked Football. He played for Leeds as an 18 year-old in an average second division team and played in the league winning team of 1992. He went on to play for England and will be famed for THAT penalty miss in the 1998 World Cup. Leeds fans remember him as a tough-tackling midfielder who broke up play before playing simple passes to his more skillful team-mates. Sold in 1994 he also won the league with Blackburn in 1995.
