We use a nice. thick rattan poles with lots of support bracing under the chair seats connecting the legs, under the actual chair seat itself and behind the chair backs. We put a "horse shoe" of rattan above seat area that holds the cushions in place. We use 2 rattan poles for the chair arms and connect them to the chair backs. Our American made cushions are zippered & filed with 3" thick foam with a Dacron wrap around them. Our cushions have center front piping. Please notice the actual seat size
