Bandipur National Park
Bandipur National Park, created in 1974 as a tiger reserve in Project Tiger, is a national park located in the Indian state of Karnataka in the south. There was once a private hunting reserve for the Maharaja of Mysore Kingdom, but was upgraded to Bandipur Tiger Reserve. Bandipur is known for its wildlife and has many types of biomes, but the dry forest is dominant. The park covers an area of 874 sq.kms (337 sq.mi), the protection of several species of fauna endangered India.
