Vézillon, two girls sitting on a wall (1913). Henri Lebasque (French, Post-Impressionism, 1865-1937). Oil on canvas. In 1912, the Salon exhibited works by a group of artists, which, because of its wild style, was later known as Les Fauves. Lebasque also took on a similar flatness in his forms and colors, though the effect was subtler in Lebasque’s works.
