Hinton - The Outsiders. I've read all of her teenage books and re-read them all the time but the one I go back to the most is The Outsiders. Also totally loved the film with Matt Dillon!

alas, the first line reads, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." A very humorous, insightful classic, full of clever as well as foolish characters and those with true wisdom and depth, end up deeply happy. :)

One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez--This is the first novel that I fell in love with. I read it one summer in high school and highlighted my favorite passages. By the end of the book, it was almost completely filled with little blue lines and my hand-written exclamations of joy.
