Jack "Calico Jack" Rackham... Commonly known as Calico Jack, was an English pirate captain operating in the Bahamas and in Cuba during the early 18th century. Lafitte may have known this was coming, & this letter is part of the preparations he made. Lafitte agreed to leave the island without a fight, & took to the open seas as a pirate. He died 2 years later in a battle against the Spanish.
