Get the most from sewing your own cloth incontinence garments
While sewing your own is almost always cheaper than buying new, sometimes the time involved is not worth the little bit of savings. Taking time to ask yourself a few questions before getting started will help you determine whether or not it's worth it to sew your own adult cloth diapers and leakproof underwear.

Types of Inserts
Cloth diapering is about finding the balance between fit, max absorption and drying time. Inserts are a great tool in this balancing act. They help add needed absorbency without adding extra drying time. A nice, thick diaper sounds awesome until you have to dry it (and dry it and dry it…). Remember, a faster drying time often means more work for you. I.e. a flat dries fast but requires lots of folding vs. a pad or contour insert, which is one piece but multiple layers to dry.
