Old roses, peonies, forget-me-nots and what have you are drawn in such a way that a variety of interesting organic irregular areas are produced, which are then simply infilled with flat, muted or vintage colours. On a varied, dusky blue ground formed from the barely discernible ghosts of yet more evanescent blooms. This produces a sense of the nostalgic perhaps, or bygone. Shepherdly song is pure Liberty. A relatively recent original creation, dating from 2015, it shows a riot of meadow flowers ingeniously rendered on a hatched, zig-zagging schematic, then delicately outlined or infilled with the most delicate washes of pink, coral, red, cobalt, magenta, violet and aqua to ivy greens.
