This is a Japanese snow monkey that is entering a natural hot spring. The monkey is so relaxed in this picture that every time I see it I relax a small bit as well. It also reminds me how no matter how different Humans and animals appear we are all live and can feel similar things. The soothing feelings of entering warm water when it is cold outside can be experienced across a wide range of species.

First Winter II by Ben Torode. A Japanese Snow Monkey settles in to a hot spring bath at Jigokudani, Nagano, Japan

Johnny Cash is one of my biggest musical influences. I love his music, and the style that he plays in is fun and challenging. He plays in a very unique and individual way. I try and emulate his style when I play guitar. His music references the common man, the challenge of life, but yet he manages to inject humor into these sombre subjects. This photograph of him shows some of his personality, which matches what he writes his songs about. Johnny is one of my favorite artists and…

No joke: this poster is HUGE! Hands down this x print is the best Johnny Cash poster around! This iconic Johnny Cash image is from his infamous performance at San Quentin in A must have for fans of the Man in Black with some empty wall s

I love the show Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Even though I cannot remember watching the show as a child I still believe that is had a huge impact on my development. I think that he has also had an equal or greater impact on countless other children's lives. The influence he had aside this picture is also funny. It combines the "hood" from gangsta rap and a children's show. I really enjoy this type of humor. It could be an ironic t-shirt that some hipster barista who works at starbucks…

His show might be vintage, but Mister Rogers never goes out of style! Check out these 12 incredibly inspiring quotes from Mister Rogers.

This photo shows a view of what the Beatles would see if they were entering a stage to perform for a crowd. In my opinion this is a very surreal photograph because it shows a view that is not often experienced by those who are sitting in the audience. This endorphin fueling view is not often experienced by most people in general, and that is the entire reason this photograph strikes me so much, mostly because of my past band experience.

Photographer Mike Mitchell took these amazing photos of The Beatles at the Washington Coliseum in 1964 when he was Then he put them in.

This is a picture of a quote by Buhdda. I believe if more people around on this earth followed this advice then the world would be a much happier and peaceful world. You do not have to waist happiness to spread it on. It goes along thie lines that if you smiled at a random person they would smile at another person, which would cause a chain reaction. Many people have a smile because of one person's random act of kindness. That analogy is in the theme of this quote. I believe in this…

This is the guitar that my father and I built from scratch. We used alder wood to build it and used pickups that I bought on craigslist. I used a neck from a previous guitar that I owned. We cut the body shape based off of a temple I found on the internet. It took several months to complete this guitar. In my opinion this is the most beautiful thing that I have built.

This is a picture from the aftermath of hurricane sandy. This large tree was toppled, and its roots clung to the dirt it was rooted in. This picture reminds me of the awesome and sometimes horrible force of nature. If a tree like this fell over on a house it could cause an extreme amount of damage, and possibly take some lives. This blows my mind that wind and rain has the potential to cause that much damage.

Horizontally Upright / What really sells the illusion is his totally relaxed pose. Knowing he’s probably straining himself to maintain such a position makes it all the more impressive!

Space is the final frontier. It extends into infinity, and for the most part we have no idea what is out in the abyss. It takes so much effort and knowledge to become an astronaut. In my opinion these qualities reserve respect and admiration. They are true heros that risk their life for the betterment of mankind. This photograph reminds me of Yuri Gagarin, the first astronaut. Upon entering earth's orbit he said "There is no God up here." This has always been an empty, and chilling…

This is a colorized version of a famous picture of a protesting Tibetan monk who is engaging in self immolation. In my opinion this is the most brutal and most desperate form of protest. This photograph is very moving and really shows the desperation of those in his situation. I do not know if I will ever be in a situation that will make me go to the extreme that this monk did. It makes me feel very fortunate to be born in such a great place like America where we are not oppressed like…
