DIY: Remove carpet and fix up stairs! Rhoda removed her worn carpet, and rather than installing expensive hardwood, she just worked with the construction-grade wood that was underneath the carpet, added moulding, caulk and paint, and finished with a great runner. GREAT idea for about 200 bucks!
