The "Castle", Drain, Oregon - DSC03866
Queen Anne architecture this was the home of Charles Drain, for whom the town is named. Construction started in 1893 and was completed in 1895 using a design by George F. Barber. It now houses the offices for the local school district and is lovingly maintained as the town's primary landmark. NRHP #78002286.

Saw this in Brenham today & was lucky enough to meet the man of the house. It was built of oak, heart pine, & Louisiana Cypress in the Victorian residential architectural style. In 1973 it was put on the Texas Historic Landmark list. It is a comfortable 4487 sq. ft, with 4 bedrooms & 4 baths. Porches give it another 920 sq ft. It has been for sale for 3 years as they are picky about buyers because they want it to remain a home. Asking price is $595,000 which isn't bad for this…
