Stonesetting tip for soft gems
Tip for setting soft gemstones like opal and turquoise! Upcycle a toothbrush into a bezel pusher by cutting and filing the tip. I like a flat spot on the bottom, but you can shape to your liking and how you will hold the handle. The soft plastic will push your bezel over without the risk of scratching your stone if you slip. Let me know if you try it! Share with your stonesetting friends, happy smithing !!

How I Make Citric Acid Pickle Solution For Silversmithing & Soldering
Citric acid is a less-toxic pickle solution for metalsmithing and jewelry making...to use after soldering. Simple Pickle Solution • Boiling water + a few tablespoons of citric acid. • Add the acid to the water. Adding water to the acid could cause splashing…something you don’t want! • Make sure to dispose of your used pickle solution properly. Don’t flush down the toilet or down a drain.
