Lord Shiva, a Hindu deity, the Supreme God, "the Destroyer", or "the Transformer" Shiva has many benevolent and fearsome forms. At the highest level Shiva is limitless, transcendent, unchanging and formless. He is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash, as well as a householder with wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya and in fierce aspects, he is often depicted slaying demons. Shiva is also regarded as the patron god of yoga and arts.

"Those who act in ego do not go beyond karma (karma; action, kaama; desire - these are both transient, to move beyond is Liberation; Moksha) it is only by Guru's Grace that one is rid of ego" - we all have the gurutattwa; guru means dispeller of darkness - you are your own Light.

That calmness...peace...one feels once he enters Shiva's place of worship is beyond words...
