Antique meets modern in the living room of a San Francisco Victorian designed by Ken Fulk. He chose a black-and-white palette, softened with neutrals and natural textures. The chimney breast, which is papered in Ralph Lauren's black Yacare Crocodile, adds sex appeal. "It looks great, that texture, and it's fun," Fulk says.
nice fire place with plain style opening and no surround.. Also looks good with same colour chimney breast as the walls. See the Toast catalogue incidentally as theirs gives you the same colour idea, whereas mine is shown with contrast chimney panel. For a bolder look. Team with grey sofa or as shown here gold, warm wood, blacks, creams works well. I usually go with a 3 or 4 colour rule. Earthy tones or textures.
Elegant living room The wallpaper is the starting point for the elegant look in this living room. Hanging the wallpaper in the alcoves stops it from overpowering the room, but still allows it to stand out.
