I hope you enjoy my fully illustrated step by step tutorial for how to sew a coin purse. DIY Sewing Tutorial and Pattern.
This basket was made with blue edging on the top of the pockets, using my Fabric Basket Tutorial. It is written for absolute beginners, if you can sew a line (preferably straight) you can do it! These are the perfect size to fit our fat quarters (the way we fold them!) most of our sewing patterns (they are the perfect width for Sewaholic, Colette, etc) and look just lovely stuffed full of pretty skeins of yarn. I bet you can’t wait to make your own.

This iPad case is easy to whip up and does not require a whole lot of stuff. Do not have the typewriter print, just add any fun fabric applique and you’re ready to go! Perfect for gifts! The finished size is 8.5” x 10.5”. I have used a 1/4" seam allowance. If you want to make it a different size, I'd suggest Add an inch to the dimensions of your gadget. It has a zipper pocket in the front to hold the chargers. The tutorial uses magnetic closure, but it can be replaced with Velcro.
I needed something to organize my 'bank stuff'. My Cheque Book, Pass Book, My Debit Card(s) and the thousands of ATM and shopping receipts I need to keep! I looked for it, but was not satisfied by what I found. The I had a light bulb moment and today morning made a rough sketch of what I wanted! 50 minutes later, the first prototype was ready!
I said it, this is a tutorial for a SUPER easy wallet! I have used Faux leather to make these. The edges are raw. If you want to use fabric, you will have to finish the edges before you can use. Other options could be Pure leather, Suede, Vinyl or Felt.

I've been looking for a big canvas tote that I can haul with me to markets and estate sales. I didn't have one that was very sturdy, so I thought that leather straps would be the perfect addition to this bag. I hope you like it too!

I am not a big fan of the large nappy (diaper) bag, so I love a zipper pouch full of baby change gear that I can fit in my bag, throw in the car or stash in the pram. Here’s how I made it:

Zip Pouch
This zip pouch is made with scraps sewn together to form panels, then some quilting lines are added to create a nice sturdy pouch. This pouch measures 10.5″ long and 7″ tall when finished. You can make different sizes, just cut your strips a bit shorter and don’t add as many to the panel.

One of the most popular tutorials on my site is my Scrappy Zipper Pouch project. It is a simple zip pouch with panels made of fabric strips. Very easy and a fun project, so I decided to make a new one and scale the size down for a mini version.

One side has a spiral patchwork pattern with four strips of quilting weight cotton fabric. The other side is just a single piece of home decor fabric. This project is very easy and quick. I hand-sewed these baskets in the picture. But of course you can use your sewing machine. It would be much quicker like a flurry of wind! And small fabric baskets are versatile.

I wanted to make a little pouch for a gift I was sending to some friends and figured while I was at it, why not make a tutorial out of it! There’s got to be another Lined Pouch Tutorial somewhere in the world wide web and I’m sure someone knows of a better way to make one but this is how I do it…

You Bag
Are you new to sewing? Have a sewing machine but haven't dusted it off in years? I came up with this project for you. It's not a huge commitment in time or fabric, and turns out pretty cute (if I do say so myself). This bag is not lined, but because I'm using duck cloth (a type of canvas) and finishing the inside seams, it is casual but sturdy, simple but elegant. First, you'll need to choose which size bag you'd like to make. They're just slightly different sizes...

This little keychain wallet was one of the first things I made once I figured out how to make my own patterns, and I've used one on my keychain for months. I love how convenient it is to stash a lip balm, some hair ties, or even a couple cards if you're just running a quick errand. I created this tutorial for beginners... even if you've never sewn a zipper! This technique allows you to put the zipper in without a zipper foot, which I think is a much easier way to do it.
