Love this idea from Delights and Designs… You could easily extend this for more able pupils to contain more word types. Children are encouraged to come up and pick a word from the teacher. They then place the stick in the correct pot. To further extend, they could then pick a word from each cup and create a sentence. Perfect for assessment!
Your very own bob and bob from phonics play - choose the words/ purpose. The children can see the words/ post them in the bin mouths! Is it a real word or alien/silly word? I love the iwb bob and bob but I have a visually impaired child who needs to see bigger font nice and close.
Interactive letter formation activities that are suitable for whole class or small group teaching. Please read the guide first to see how this works. Click the magic pencil and watch how the letter should be formed. Plenty of opportunity for modelling and discussion. Children could have dry wipe boards and pens to attempt letters during the activity. The letter shapes used within the presentation are displayed on the supporting .pdf
Sight Word Graphing - good idea, can adapt for more difficult words and get a newspaper article or a page from a book/story and have them go through and graph how many times the sight words occur from the article/story.
