1990 - Last Days at Holborn Viaduct

BR(S) 4-EPB units at Holborn Viaduct station, in January 1990. The 'Thameslink' line from Farringdon via Snow Hill - re-opened in the '80s - rises up on the left-hand side, behind the railings.. The station closed at the end of that month, and demolition started right away, to produce a lower-level route from the Thameslink line up to Blackfriars, going under Ludgate Hill, instead of over it.. Hymek and Peak at Mangotsfield Station, 27th Nov 1965

Hymek waits in the Station while Peak brings a northbound train round the curve heading towards Gloucester. Myself, Brother and Mum stand on Mangotsfield Station after just watching 7029 Clun Castle pass through with the "Farewell to Steam" Special on route to Gloucester. The other photos of this train were taken just in front of the signal box, to the left of picture, by my late father, K H Cribb.
