For week 7 we had a double lecture on 1930-1940: British Surrealist Group- Photo Journalism 1940-1950: St Ives School - Abstract Expressionism and we then worked on our scripts for the rest of the lesson. I struggled with starting it properly and trying to make it critical!

For week 6 we did not have a lecture so we carried on research we got given an Academic Writing Presentation posted on Moodle for us to look at. Which showed us different ways we could write our scripts. I finally chose my second person which turned out to be a Smurf. I then had a talk with Stacey one of our tutors to tell her my ideas and got her feedback on what to look and research a bit further.

For week 5 we had a lecture on 1920-1930: Surrealism, New Objectivity, Bauhaus. i found this lecture interesting as I loved the Surrealism, Advertising and Pablo Picasso works because I like how his works are abstract. We then went onto work on our research and scripts for the rest of the lesson.

For week 4 continued After the lecture we went onto do a dating game which consisted of being our artists and thinking of one or more questions to ask the other people in our group this was to get us thinking about our artist and to see how much we know about them. This was a good game that I really enjoyed and I showed myself how much I know about Henri Matisse. We then went onto talk about our second artists or ideas about a second person as a group.

For week 4 of the course we had a lecture on 1910-1920: Constructivism, Dada, Bauhaus, Destul. The lecture was very interesting as we looked at different famous works and found out Graphic Design didn't exist properly until the 70's which was very surprising. We looked Tim Burton and the German Expressionism and how he was inspired. We looked at the development through the years and the different designers.

For our third lesson we had a lecture on "1900-1910 Expressionism and Futurism" it went well however I am going to look at the lecture online again. We then got to do research on the laptops about our artist "Henri Matisse" research went well however, after feedback when we had our group tutorials I have found other avenues to go down. I like the groups ideas and artists.

For our second lesson we had our first lecture on 1900- post Impressionism- art nouveau- symbolism." I was a bit overwhelmed at first because it is about art and design history and where it all started but I was ok. We then took it in turns to tell the tutors and group what we found out and got feedback.

For our lessons we are split into afternoon and morning groups. My first lesson consisted of the tutors explaining the course overview and design briefs. We looked at "A contextual journey through time" this showed me all different artist/ designers and the most important art movements of the periods and how they influence the communication process. We then got to pick out an artist from a pot, I got Henri Matisse. I then went on to research him for next week.
