Rum & Liquor
Cruzan Rum has been made in St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands for seven generations. It’s a blend of rums, all of them aged for two to four years in an oak barrel. To give you a comparison, Bacardi is aged for one year in steel barrels, which is why it has no color. It's very inexpensive yet is a very good tasting rum. The aged quality of the rum actually gives cocktails an interesting complexity. Nothing fancy here.
Review: 10 Cane Rum - Drinkhacker
Unlike most rums, which are made of molasses, the 80-proof 10 Cane is made from pure, pressed sugar juice. Though it’s technically a white rum, it’s also aged in oak barrels, which makes more of a golden yellow instead of clear. It’s oily and a bit smoky, and the oak is palpable; it’s much more similar to a cachaca (which is also cane sugar-based) than to Bacardi. This isn’t really a rum for drinking straight: It’s less sweet and less spicy than the best white rums
