Fort Bliss is El Paso and El Paso is Fort Bliss! On this day we honor our military who make freedom possible. #VeteransDay Fort Bliss is home to the 1st Armored Division. The division is supported by the 15th Sustainment Brigade. Fort Bliss is also home to the 32nd Army Air & Missile Defense Command the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade the 212th Fires Brigade (now reflagged as the 1st Armored Division Artillery Brigade) and the 402nd Field Artillery Brigade.
EL PASO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN THE 1950s The terminal was designed by the firm Frazer & Benner and built in 1939-42 in the Pueblo Style of architecture. This replaced the city's first airport, which had been established in 1928 to the east of the present site.
