Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American writer with strong Spanish connections - he wrote 'Death in the Afternoon', a book about bullfighting and later wrote his novel 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' based on real events in the Spanish Civil War.  He also wrot 'The Sun Also Rises' - a 1926 novel about a group of American and British expatriates who travel from Paris to the Festival of San Fermín in Pamplona to watch the 'Running of the Bulls'.
