Plant guide: Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemums are the iconic symbol of Mothers Day and are popular gifts, heres why you should have them in your autumn garden.

Plumbago Large clusters of deep blue flowers, make this a tough and hardy plant. Grow it over a fence or plant a row for an informal hedge. Plant into well conditioned soil with water crystals and controlled release fertiliser added. Drought tolerant and frost hardy. Position: Full sun (its REALLY drought tolerant and tough!) Prune after flowering to control shape. Forgetting to prune may lead to an overgrown shrub. Otherwise pest and disease free!

Lantana, I love this plant, tough, low water needs, unrelenting bloomer. great choice for someone who doesn't have time to fuss in their garden. One of the best choices to be sure.

Statice - (limonium perezil). Long-lasting flowers low maintenance, drought tolerant. Look at putting it along the gravel path. Loves full sun.
