This is the F5 tornado that went through Omaha, NE, May, 1975. This photo was taken looking West from Aksarben Race Track by the photographer who was there to take pictures of the finishes of the races. The tornado was about 1/4 mile away from the track. I was at home, in my basement, under an overturned couch (for protection - ha!) with my two sons (8 and 4) praying the tornado would not hit our home (which, thank God, it didn't.)

White House Apartments, Omaha - is a Victorian mansion likely built around the turn of the 20th century and in its history it has served as a private residence, a hospital and apartments. Several entities haunt the premises that are unknown as far as who they are and why they're there. They could be from its hospital days, or spectral drifters from the funeral home next door. Most reported is the apparition of a young woman in white who gives startled residents a smile before she disappears.

This Italianate Victorian manor may seem like a fixer-upper but the former hospital seems to be a welcome home to apparitions, as the "hostess" has been known to greet the living.
