Oh, this makes me so homesick for Northwest winters. The dampened sound including, every so often, a soft plooomp as a branch releases its load of snow. The distinct squeaky sound of my boot-wearing footsteps in the soft, damp snow. It's a completely different sound in dry, supercold snow which almost hisses.
