Super herbal homemade chicken noodle soup - low glycemic noodles, peas, bay leaf, loads of fresh chopped parsley, grated fresh ginger, some thyme, fresh crushed black pepper, sea salt, carrots, onions, garlic, a bit o' shallot, a few leftover roasted rosemary potatoes, generous squeezes of lemon, the chicken was lo-fat (no skin) but I did thicken with a little butter/flour roux  just a little bit. #chickensoup

When life hands you a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup: sauté mashed garlic in a little butter and EVOO, then pour soup diluted 2x into the pot, then add freshly grated ginger, fresh thyme, some frozen petit pois, cracked black pepper and watercress. Let boil for a bit to reduce. Then make a roux with finely chopped scallions and to the pot, whisk it to hell, and let simmer a bit more. Then at the end, let it cool a bit, add more ginger, fresh squeezed lemon and fresh chopped cilantro.

Threw in some of my fresh garden rosemary, thyme and then grated ginger with a big splash of lime and a dash of fresh crushed pepper. In Cuban we'd call this Sopa de Res, but I love the variations with herbs and spices you wouldn't normally use in Cuban food.

I love repurposing food ... nothing goes to waste. Leftover snapper sushi, edamame, seaweed salad from RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, was turned into a soup with carrots, spicy sesame oil, bonito flake broth, chard, button mushrooms, egg white lo mein noodles.

Lentils criollo Maria style. Wow I made a huge *palangana* of the lentils enough to feed an army but it's so rich, you really should only eat it in small portions.  Lentils, onions, garlic, carrots, boniato, Spanish chorizo, spiced with bay leaf, cayenne, black pepper, oregano, Spanish paprika, cumin, sea salt as well fresh thyme and then some sun-dried tomato paste.  Added fresh spinach and tomato at the end with a bit more thyme from my garden.
