One of the most beautiful of the warblers, the Cape May warbler is uncommon, although often seen in migration. The male bird in breeding plumage has chestnut cheeks and a white wing patch, and is yellow below with heavy black streaks. The female has a duller coloration but retains a suggestion of the cheek patch. Both sexes are 5 inches long.
