Set of 12 Gold Cordial Cups. 18 kt. gold, each outscrolled rim above a circular body, raised on a conforming molded base, inscribed Ara 1924 and Alva 1931, marked Tiffany & Co Makers #18992, approximately 771 dwt. Height 2 1/2 inches, diameter 2 1/8 inches. Estimate $40,000 - $60,000. Made for a gold rectangular tray. "Ara" was the name of Mr. W K Vanderbilt Jr.'s first yacht on which he made a trip halfway around the world in 1927.
