CAPTION 3: For Sappho, I chose this image because these words capture both her soul and style, as a true composer. I admire and relate to Sappho: we're both female poets who write lyrically, plus our words aim to dig deep into the pits of our art. Sappho's poems dealt with Eros, so it could be experience by both men and women. The rawness and melody of her words offset the paradoxical content she explores. Sappho never ceases to impress me.
