I never forgot though. But I think this just goes to show that not even the good guys on thus show are truly good.

That's true, but we've also never seen any indication that Pearl ever meant to do anything more than poof Sapphire. Lapis was cracked, and knowing what we do about Bismuth, it's more than possible that she meant to shatter her.
