Queen Elizabeth II  became Queen at age 25. The coronation took place on May 12, 1937. The 85 year old Queen Elizabeth became the first British-born Queen Consort since tudor times. She is celebrating 60 years as Queen this year on February 6, 2012.  She is the longest-lived British monarch and ruler who is aged 85 years, 291 days. She equaled the second longest, Queen Victoria's, record on 20 December 2007.
