The Dragonnades persecuting a Huguenot family.Huguenots were members of the Protestant Reformed Church of France from the 16th - 18th + centuries. They were inspired by the writings of John Calvin in the mid 1500s, they were of noble birth, most middle class, skilled artisans, bankers and business people. By the end of the 17th c into the 18th c, They fled France due to religious persecutions. It is estimated over 700,000 fled + more were murdered.

Flemings came as dependent vassals charged with subduing the Scots,fighting the Irish,or shoring up the border territories with Wales.
