ISAAC: Laughter. Isaac was the son of Abraham and Sarah. He was the first descendant in fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham. When Isaac was a young man, his father Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac on the Mount Moriah, as proof of his obedience. Abraham unhesitatingly prepared to do so, but was stopped by God. In the New Testament, this episode is compared to God's sacrifice of His own son, Jesus. Isaac was married to Rebecca and had two sons Esau and Jacob.

Joseph received them with kindness and forgiveness, and invited his father Jacob to Egypt.
