The last streetcar, 1958: Car 7213 rolls into the history books as the last Chicago streetcar. At one time, the city had the largest street railroad system in the world.

Thank you for this great vintage photo, Grace. This photo was taken at about 97th or 98th and Throop St., circa 1915. Whole blocks of bungalows were built to sell on spec by construction companies, like the one owned by Grace's grandfather. The sign reads "For Sale - Bungalows - Cash or easy terms."
