Johnson Co., Georgia plantation desk with the original red paint over yellow pine. Two pieces comprised of top with two doors over three drawers all with applied molding resting on tapered legs with slant front. Overall good condition with expected wear to painted surface, missing trim on bottom of legs and one corner. 40 1/2" H x 38 3/8" W x 33 1/2" D. 19th century. Provenance: From a private Georgia collection and featured on page 25, April 1997 issue, of "Early American Homes" magazine.

Early cool iron latch (may not have been original). Lots of patina on the old green/bluish paint. Complete with mousehole. Measures: 40" wide x 23" deep x 66" tall.
