Africa | Necklace; silver, niello, amber, coral, glass, and silver beads.  Ksar Es Souk, Morocco. | 20th century || This impressive necklace is made of beads and silver plaques taken from necklaces worn by Muslim women. Originally, since the plaques composed a breast ornament, a link was attached to the bottom of each in order to attach it to its fellows. In this necklace, real coral was used, but the high cost of this material led to the manufacture of the imitation coral beads being used.
