"Carboloading" w/white pastas is NOT necessary for endurance athletes. Yes you need the calories but load up on these complex healthy carbs pre & post race for nutrient-dense calories. My fave before marathons: bulgar, quinoa, or couscous. Lots of delicious recipes out there & they can go w/almost anything! Make the calories count for peak performance AND your health.
