Last night, 31 local executives, community leaders and celebrities slept outside in solidarity with the hundreds of young people who call Vancouver’s streets home, to raise funds for Covenant House Vancouver’s Crisis Shelter program. With just a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard, the “sleepers” braved -3 degree weather as part of Covenant House’s Sleep Out: Executive Edition.

Covenant Houses throughout the United States and Canada will host Sleep Out events this fall to raise critical funds and awareness to the issue of youth homelessness. Be sure to join in the discussion on Social Media using the hash tag #CHSleepOut.

SLEEP OUT: EXECUTIVE EDITION On November 15th, executives, public figures and well connected leaders in our community will sleep outside for one night in solidarity with those youth who may face many more cold, lonely nights until they find their way through Covenant House’s doors.

Bob Lenarduzzi (President, Vancouver Whitecaps), David Hawksworth (Hawksworth Restaurant), Actress Kristin Kreuk, ABC’s The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe, Breakfast Television’s Riaz Meghji and several local media personalities were joined by 40+ other sleepers who at last count had raised over $$672,461.
