“ Chinese fashion designer Qiu Hao teamed up with French photographer Matthieu Belin to shoot his F/W 2011 Serpens Collection. The collection was named after the Serpens constellation.

“From Iris van Herpen’s most recent Spring 2012 couture collection, Micro, these images show work that was inspired by scientific SEM photographs of bacilli, vermin, mites, etc. Van Haerpen noted that she wanted to show their beauty because in her eyes they were the most bizarre, unbelievable and most imaginative creatures imaginable. The bulbous dresses were fashioned from clusters of amphibious-looking plexiglass, 3D modeled on the computer before sewed onto the garments.”
