Star of David. A six-pointed figure consisting of two interlaced equilateral triangles, used as a Jewish and Israeli symbol.

The Star of David, known in Hebrew as the Shield of David or Magen David, is a generally recognized symbol of modern Jewish identity and Judaism. During the century the symbol became common in Jewish communities of Eastern Europe.

Star of David- This symbol is the most commonly associated symbol of Judaism, but it is actually relatively new. It was present in early Jewish art but was not exclusively Jewish until recently. It represents the shape of King David's shield. in the Middle Ages and in Nazi Germany, Jews were required to wear the symbol as a badge. This symbol now appears on the flag of Israel.
