An English Redware Pottery Stirrup Cup, Circa 1775. An unusual redware pottery stirrup cup. The shape is most unusual being an upright L-shape form now mounted with an old metal holder and handle. The cup is in the form of a vixen's head with features of the fur highlighted in a black wash. The opening of the cup is at 90 degrees to the fox's head so that the cup could actually rest on a small concave base. Height: 4 inches; width: 6 1/4 inches
