I love Sands of Time. I like how combat was greatly improved for its sequels. But Prince of Persia (2008) is absolute beauty everywhere you look. Had it not been preceded by the Sands trilogy the game would have had a much greater impact. And its artstyle? It puts the latest PoP game to shame!
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time | Ubisoft Montreal -- This game is damn-near flawless. It's beautiful, with the environments vivid and varied. It features a brilliantly original time manipulation mechanic that takes the aggravation of trial and error in platforming titles out of the equation. And it features one of the greatest stories ever told in a video game. Almost nothing beats the Prince and his epic, three-part tragedy!
