Dee Dee Ramone and Joan Jett (1951 - 2002) was a German-American songwriter and musician, best known as founding member, songwriter, and bassist for punk rock band the Ramones. Though nearly all of the Ramones' songs were credited equally to all the band members, Dee Dee was the band's most prolific lyricist and songwriter, writing many of the band's most well-known songs, such as "53rd & 3rd", "Commando" and "Poison Heart". He died of a heroine overdose.
October 3, 1849: Edgar Allan Poe discovered delirious in Baltimore. He would die 4 days later, still delirious and incoherent. No one really knows what happened to him, but one theory is that he may have been a victim of "cooping", a popular form of election fraud during the time.
