Olle Baertling (1911-1981) was a Swedish abstract artist & sculpture. In the mid 1940s he switched to abstraction. He visited Paris in 1948 and worked first with Lhote, then with Léger. From 1949, he painted completely abstract pictures with unbroken areas of colour and distinct lines, and experimented briefly with circles and after-images. He met Herbin in Paris in 1950 and joined the Réalités Nouvelles.
