On Jan. 29, 1536, Catherine of Aragon, Queen of England, was buried at Peterborough Cathedral as the "Dowager Princess of Wales". King Henry VIII did not attend, nor did he allow his and Catherine's daughter, the Princess Mary, to attend. Catherine was laid to rest on the same day that her great rival, Queen Anne Boleyn, miscarried a son.
