The NFL Backs the Tutu Project, Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Who is that hairy guy in a pink ballet skirt charging through the Giants' Metlife Stadium? The NFL announced today that it is partnering with The Tutu Project, the slightly wacky and completely enchanting brainchild of photographer Bob Carey and his wife Linda, who is a breast cancer survivor. The Tutu Project -- The photos show a stout, middle-aged man dressed only in a pink tutu: poised on a diving board, hanging off a tree, wandering through a cow pasture, catching the breeze on a ferry deck - and lying in a bed alone. Photographer Bob Carey started shooting the quirky, often touching self-portraits back in 2003, right around the time his wife of Linda was told she had developed an aggressive form of breast cancer.
"SAN FRANCISCO" The mission of The Tutu Project™ is to raise funds to cover the cost of self-publishing Ballerina. It’s also the story of doing good while doing well; Ballerina is a book all about a man, his pink tutu and raising funds for women with breast cancer. #dayna_trueman #yankinaustralia
Bob Carey is a photographer who started The Tutu Project, a breast cancer awareness campaign. He started out as a way to cheerup his wife, who is a cancer patient herself, by taking curious and beautiful photos of himself in a pink tutu. Everyone should know and donate. :)
