Jeanne Stapleton Murray was born in 1923 and raised on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. She chose acting over music shortly after high school, and by the late 1950s she was working steadily in live TV drama, on stage , and in Hollywood, where she recreated her scene-stealing turns from Broadway’s Bells are Ringing and Damn Yankees.
Blahnik learnt the art of shoe making in visits to shoe factories and in talking to the pattern cutters, technicians and machine operators. By 1971 he was making his own shoes. He began by designing men’s footwear for sale at Zapata, mainly intensely coloured versions of shoes he had admired in old movies as a child.

This famous creepy theremin theme is also known as the Barnabas Theme, named for the glowering vampire of Collinwood estate in this low-rent but beloved old afternoon gothic soaper.
