The Battery- Every time I've been tasked with showing someone NYC highlights (if they only have a single day or 2) I ALWAYS take them down to the Battery to see the best VIEWS of the statue of liberty instead of the whole shabang ferrying over there to liberty island (unless that is their specific dream) The pics are better from the Battery anyhow. If a little more time; Ellis Island can be a VERY moving experience as an American. The museum can really inspire one to study their roots

According to Bobbe, he decided to snap these photographs because he was fascinated by the Bowery and the grit and seaminess of the old Times Square with peep shows and prostitutes all over the streets in broad daylight.
